Did I mention I was lucky enough to attend?
Because these shoes featuring kitty-cat pom-poms designed by Patricia Chang are bound to soon be all the rage, here is an inside look into what went down at its New York Fashion Week party.
Unsurprisingly, an obvious centerpiece at the party were Josefina’s shoes that featured this special addition. The trendy, low-rise sneakers were each topped off with a fluffy pom-pom, designed by Chang. But, what’s cuter than a big, colorful pom-pom? One that is bejeweled with gems and pearls so that it looks like a cat.
Fortunately, the latter is what we are seeing on these special shoes.
However, Chang told me herself that the pom-poms are detachable, and can be worn with other shoes. Here, the shoes with her pom-poms are $443, while the pair of pom-poms are $178.
Despite really loving these adorable shoes, I loved the party’s atmosphere, too.
This party was held at Josefina’s flagship store on Elizabeth Street in the Lower East side, and is one of the pinkest and prettiest stores around (that I am definitely sure of).
Once guests walked through this store of pink and gold, they ended up on an outdoor patio in the back: surely a hot commodity to any and all shops in the city.
Upon entering the patio sandwiched in between the concrete backyards of other shops, guests were served with various hor d’oeuvres like fresh strawberries, kettle corn, macarons and champagne. Playing off the shoes we were celebrating, Josefina’s offered guests macarons that were in the shape of, you guessed it, kittens! Almost too cute to eat.
So, if you’re into any shoes that are either cute, pretty, stylish, chic, or a combination of the four, Josefina’s is definitely worth checking out. Its prices are on the higher side, but that is certainly because you are paying for quality.
