Well, this is my first hello from the Big Apple! Yes, I have officially moved to New York City and cannot be more excited about it! This means great things for the blog, people!
Unfortunately, I will only be here for the summer, since I have to go back to school in the fall. Nonetheless, I am interning at a magazine here, which was my reason for moving (two things I have wanted to do since, like, seventh grade).
That being said, I spent a good chunk of last Monday morning looking at my rumpled assortment of clothes in my suitcase, stressing out over what to wear to work on my first day. After a long period of time I am unwilling to admit to, I selected this floral mock neck top and button-up denim skirt.
This shirt is perfect for this time of year since it’s not too too hot (and disgustingly humid) yet, but it definitely ain’t cold either. And at the end of the day, I am obsessed with this color.
Aaaand what better color to pair it with than clean white? I also really love the somewhat A-line shape of this skirt, too. It is also from Forever21. The finishing touches: leather kitten heels from Lucky Brand and a patent tote bag from BCBGMAXAZRIA.
So, dressed in my I’m-new-to-the-office-please-like-me ensemble, I hit the streets of the city and walked about a childhood dream of mine.
One of the coolest things about Manhattan is that interesting places lay on nearly every block.
Like this one here: a marble court lined with streamlined office buildings, but also home to this shiny little diner that isn’t taking itself too seriously. How is that for juxtaposition?
