I never used to be a big smoothie or shake person; I’d rather drink my calories than eat them, you know? Also, I have a pretty big appetite, so shakes and smoothies never seem to satisfy.
But, I am pleased to say that this chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie satisfies my appetite and my taste buds. Seriously.
In my opinion, chocolate and peanut butter is a food combination from the gods. That being said, I was pretty excited to put together a shake that included both components. It’s safe to say this shake ended up being on point.
I made sure that I thoroughly enjoyed every component that went into the blender.
Almond milk is the base, and it’s one I highly recommend using in your future shakes and smoothies. It’s good for you, low calorie and the perfect texture for a base.
And I guess I’ll say there weren’t many ingredients; this shake was pretty simple to make. Besides the almond milk, it requires one medium banana, a tablespoon of Nuts n’ More Chocolate Peanut peanut butter, some cinnamon and, if you’re feeling it, vanilla protein powder. I have a pretty big sweet tooth, and I find protein powder adds a great and smooth sweetness to any shake.
So here is what you’ve been waiting for…the recipe (no, not the song by Kendrick Lamar).
Prep time: 5 minutes
Serving size: One glass
1 medium sized banana, frozen
1/2 cup of almond milk
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1 tablespoon of Nuts n’ More Chocolate Peanut peanut butter
a dash of cinnamon to taste
1.) Pour the almond milk into a blender, followed by the banana.
2.) Put the protein powder, peanut butter and dash of cinnamon into the blender.
3.) Blend until the texture is completely smooth with no clumps.
This shake doesn’t require a lot of ingredients, is delicious and is super quick to make. What’s not to love?
