What’s Alice in Wonderland meets proper British tea room meets breakfast nook? sketch in London, of course!
My roommates and I recently did brunch and sketch London, after hearing so much about it. I think my mouth stayed upon the entire time; no not because of the flat omelette I was eating, but because of how undeniably cool this restaurant. It’s more than a restaurant; it’s an experience.
sketch is a conglomeration of a couple different rooms, which might as well be their own restaurants. There is the Gallery, Parlour, Lecture Room, Glade and East Bar. Each as their own speciality, like afternoon tea, breakfast, lunch or cocktails. My roommates and I chose the Parlour where we indulged in a nice brunch paired with tea.
I got a “Flat Omelette” with mushrooms and Gorgonzola cheese. I’ve heard had a flat omelette before, but it’s just what it sounds like: instead of the egg being folded over, it remains flat and in the shape of the pan. Cool idea, but it was served pretty cold. Also, there wasn’t quite enough cheese for a cheese addict like myself!
One of the best parts of the meal, in my opinion, was the delicious chai tea. I’m not a huge tea fan, as I find it to be pretty watery, but man was this chai flavorful. The adorable tea pot and cup it was served it didn’t hurt, either…
Nonetheless, sketch’s menu doesn’t disappoint; my roommates and I certainly had a hard time choosing between the assortment of egg, cake and porridge dishes.
Oh yeah, then there’s the bathroom…
I rest may case on how cool sketch is.
