The quote “summertime in Rhode Island; no other place I’d rather be…” from a song I don’t actually know the name of (whops) couldn’t be more accurate.
Recently, I headed down to Newport to meet up with some friends, grab lunch at Diego’s restaurant and just enjoy the beautiful mix of street and sea.
Yes, Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but let me tell you there are big things to do there in the summer.
One of these big things is hanging out in Newport where an array of shops, bakeries and restaurants line an endless brick street that is settled along the glistening Atlantic Ocean. It’s basically America’s yacht headquarters and never shy of couples walking hand-in-hand in his and hers Lilly Pulitzer.
Walking along the less-crowded Broadway Street to grab teas at Empire Tea & Coffee. I got the Vanilla Rooibos iced tea. Yes, it was delicious.
Let me tell you–Diego’s: on point. At the restaurant, I ordered what I like to call the “perfect summer salad.” No joke. It was perfect. For summer.
Who’s been to Newport before or a place like it? Let me know in the comments!
